Qualified schools and organizations may book Kid Filmmakers to present the following after school and weekend workshops to Grades 1-12:

 

Animation Vacation -- Offered as a one-week, full day summer camp -- Kids learn the history of animation and watch cutting-edge films. They will make their own flipbooks and create anime, Claymation® and cutout animation movies.

Cutting Loose -- Offered weekends and after school as a continuing 6-8 week workshop -- Kids get hands-on training in the art of film editing (i.e. differences between linear and nonlinear editing techniques).

Faked You Out -- Offered as a one-time, 2-hour workshop -- Kids learn about special effects in the movies, i.e. using blue screens, miniature models, how to make fake blood and use prosthetics to change an actor's appearance (old age, horror, etc.)

Film Factory -- Offered after school as a continuing 6-week workshop -- GRADES 1-3: acting for film, makeup, scenery and prop construction; GRADES 4-6: acting, animation, camcorder training, directing, lighting, makeup, screenwriting; GRADES 7-12: advanced film production, editing, film scoring, special effects

Film Wizard Workshop -- Offered as a one-time, 2-hour workshop -- A crash course in "reel" movie wizardry! Kids get "sorted" first as a cameraperson, actor or director, then join other First Years in recreating a scene from a Harry Potter movie.

Get Reel -- Offered weekends and after school as a continuing 6-8 week workshop -- Kids get their own video soapbox to address concerns about peer pressure, literacy, ecology, substance abuse and other topics. Activities include writing and performing in public service announcements and/or documentaries.

Movie Maestros -- Offered weekends and after school as a continuing 6-8 week workshop -- Kids learn the history of film scoring. They will listen to works by composers John Williams, James Horner, Randy Newman and others and compose their own film scores.

Practical Pirates -- Offered as a one-time, 2-hour workshop -- Kids learn how to talk, look and act like a pirate from a real pirate re-enactor. Pirate movie scenes are recreated and videotaped...arrrrrrrrrr!

Screen Stealers -- Offered weekends and after school as a continuing 6-8 week workshop -- Kids learn acting techniques and terminology for film and television, i.e. hitting marks, staying in frame, camera angles, memorization, improvisation, how to audition, etc. Kids perform film scenes and television commercials which are videotaped for critique.

ScriptKidz -- Offered as a one-week after school or summer program -- For teenagers who wish to develop marketable feature-film length screenplays for submission to screenplay competitions and agents. Last day focuses on marketing your script, i.e. finding an agent and pitching sessions.

Summer Shoot -- Offered as a one-week, full day summer program-- Kids produce a group film, while learning videography, screenwriting, acting, directing and makeup.
